Gay activists cannot and will not allow the idea that homosexuals can recover from their sinful lifestyle and become straight and normal. Doing so would be admitting that homosexuality is not genetic, but a mental and/or sin disorder. That would total remove any legitimacy to their cause and this is why they hate Michael Glatze with a passion.
Prior to 2007, Glatze was gaining recognition as a gay activist. He was the founding editor of Young Gay America magazine. Even though he was open about his homosexuality for 10 years, he said that he still struggled with the idea internally. Then he read David Kupelian’s book, The Marketing of Evil and said the book opened his mind to the evil influences of today’s society that fed the homosexual urge.
In 2007, Glatze announced that he had recovered from the sin of homosexuality and that by the grace of God was liberated from his life of sin. He said wrote in a 2007 WND article:
“‘Coming out’ from under the influence of the homosexual mindset was the most liberating, beautiful and astonishing thing I’ve ever experienced in my entire life.”
As you can imagine, the gay community felt betrayed by one of their own and have been angry, to say the least, with Glatze ever since. Now, Glatze has found even more happiness in his straight Christian lifestyle by getting married to his new bride, Rebekah. In a letter to WND, Glatze wrote:
“I am so grateful for Rebekah, for God, for His provision, for my new in-laws, for my family which traveled from far and wide to join in our special day, and for the prayers and support that have flooded our way since October.”
Gay activists like Wayne Besen are attacking Glatze and his marriage, doing everything possible to discredit him, his bride and his Christian faith. Besen has written mocking the wedding as nothing more than publicity and says that Glatze’s wife Rebekah doesn’t know what she’s getting herself into.
Besen and others have been convincing liberal politicians all over the country that gay conversion therapy doesn’t work and only harms a person’s mental well-being. They’ve been so successful that states like California and New Jersey have passed laws making gay conversion therapy illegal. One of the latest liberals to succumb to the lies of the homosexual community is New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, who signed his state’s anti-therapy law this past August.
Glatze and others like him, and there are others, are proof that homosexuality is not genetic and that given the opportunity and access to the right kind of help, people can successfully convert from the sinful lifestyle. In the vast majority of cases of people converting away from the gay life the reason has been God and the teachings found in the Bible. Like Glatze, once they turn their lives over to Jesus Christ, they have all the help they need to leave that dark and perverse world behind them. They will tell you that they have gone from darkness to light and they owe it all to God’s mercy, forgiveness and love.
So I congratulate Michael and Rebekah Glatze and wish they have a long marriage and a Christ centered family.
