REPENT or PERISH !!!

                   Luke 13:1-9
Luke CHAPTER 13
1 † There were present at that season some that told him of 
the Galilaeans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their 
sacrifices. 2 And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye 
that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, 
because they suffered such things? 3 I tell you, Nay: but, 
except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. 4 Or those 
eighteen,† upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, 
think ye that they were sinnersa above all men that dwelt in 
Jerusalem? 5 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all 
likewise perish.
6 He spake also this parable; A certain man had a fig tree 
planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon, 
and found none. 7 Then said he unto the dresser of his 
vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on 
this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbereth it the 
ground? 8 And he answering said unto him, Lord, let it alone 
this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it: 9 And if it 
bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that thou shalt cut it 
down.

I. The Great Evil’s of Sin!
       A. All sin is evil.
                – We are in the last days, and Bible preaching is 
little heard anymore, So-called preachers, candy-coat, or water-
down God’s Word, to try to not offend their listeners. This 
methodology has totally removed many “doctrines” of the 
Bible, and one of the main ones, is… REPENT. This is to turn 
away from sin, to God. Also to THINK DIFFERENTLY, it 
has the connotation of living morally, and biblicaly. So within 
this doctrine, sin is identified, and called “sin” and not a more 
acceptable, and so less-convicting word. Amen and all sin is 
evil.

– When a believer is taught right; Just like The Father, they 
will abhor or hate sin. But we are often taught to merely not 
think about it, which is the very opposite of repent!

       B. Every problem facing mankind today has its roots in 
sin. Sin entered this world by deception, and disobedience. 
Hence…
                – Every sickening lifestyle is a product of sin.
                – Every hardened criminal is a prisoner to sin.
                – Every Drug addict is a slave to sin.
                – Every rapist and molester is bound in sin.
                – Even the trap of religious self, is a product of sin.
                – And this list could go on, and on, and on, and on…
  – Many people live in their sins, and accuse everyone around 
them for their misery, their pain, sorrow, torments, 
shortcomings, while they excuse their every vile, selfish, evil, 
sadistic ways, because they are blind to the fact of the real 
problem.     SIN!
– Yes … SIN is the real problem, and it must be dealt with to 
ever experience real joy, peace, and love. Amen
You have a real enemy, and it isn’t who you think! It is Satan, 
the father of all sin, and lies.
       C. Because of the first man Adam’s sin, every one born 
after him was/are born, lost, and undone, without God, and are 
bound to sin, by virtue of the “sin-nature”.  (It’s in the genes)!
       D. the Bible says, that sinners (all who are not saved) are 
slaves to that sin nature, and are bound to commit sin, and 
displease God.
       E. If sin is not dealt with, the person who dies in their 
sins will go to Hell.
– Even if they may have been a “good person”, many rely on 
their “good-works”, to gain access to a glorious after life. But 
the Bible says… We must be BORN-AGAIN! And that is not 
an option.
– No matter how well loved a person is, or how much one may 
want them in heaven, they are not going to enter, IF THEY 
DO NOT REPENT, and RECEIVE CHRISTS’ 
FORGIVENESS, for THEIR SINS and BE BORN-AGAIN!

        Yes there is hope, but only for anyone who will hear, 
and receive…

II. The Great Deliverance from Sin.
       Where sin DID abound, GRACE did MUCH MORE 
ABOUND! Talk about a pardon!
       A. Jesus came to set the captives free. This would be 
every man/woman born after Adam.
       B. He addressed EVERY sin ever committed! When he 
said, “It is finished” he was speaking of His atoning work on 
the cross. His Blood is the ONLY answer for our sins!
       C. The cost was great! The Glorious Eternal Son of God 
came to earth to live a sinless life, to die upon that cruel tree, 
to be buried in the borrowed tomb, and to rise forever 
victorious! And thereby to offer his Glorious salvation to all 
of creation, via the gospel Amen
       D. The way to receive this deliverance is FREE, 100% 
bought, and paid for. All one must do is Repent, and believe 
the Gospel!
                (When Christ Jesus was upon the Cross, He was 
saying to all who will ever hear it. “Come unto me all ye that 
are heavy laden and I WILL give you REST”). Matt. 11:28
       E. The God-called church is still faithful to that “Great 
commission” to PREACH THE GOSPEL (repentance) to the 
entirety of the World!
                It isn’t Popular today! But God’s messengers still 
declare…

III. REPENT or PERISH!
       A. All of God’s messengers came preaching, “Repent”.
                John came preaching… REPENT  
Matt. 3:1-2
                Jesus came preaching… REPENT  
Matt. 4:17, Mark 1:15
                The Twelve came preaching… REPENT
Mark 6:7-12
                Peter came preaching…REPENT  
Acts 2:38, Acts 3:19
                Paul came preaching …REPENT  
Acts 17:30, Acts 26:19-20
                And The Bible churches of today also
preach…              “REPENT”!!!
       B. Repent – means to… Turn from sin, unto God, to 
have a change of mind (having the idea that one is led to now 
live the moral, biblical way, not by law, but by His Grace 
through The Cross!) in everyday living.
                – Some have said, “it is a 180*”.

                – But safe to say, when one truly repents, they are 
living differently, i.e. bearing fruit (John 15:1-6),
   1 I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. 2 
Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and 
every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring 
forth more fruit. 3 Now ye are clean through the word which I 
have spoken unto you. 4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the 
branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no 
more can ye, except ye abide in me. 5 I am the vine, ye are the 
branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same 
bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. 6 
If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is 
withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and 
they are burned.

also …”ye shall know them by their fruits”…
( Matt. 7:16)
       C. Many never hear this important doctrine today, 
because many so-called preachers do not wish to offend their 
perspective disciples. Again this methodology is a doctrine of 
devils, if a sinner never hears the awfulness of sin, they can 
never understand their personal situation, and the necessity to 
REPENT! And Jesus said, “Blessed are those who are NOT 
offended IN ME”. This has the idea that if a person is 
offended when they hear what the Messiah came to do, (save 
them from their sins) that they are basically saying that they 
have not sinned, and then pride has kept them from receiving 
His Glorious Grace, and thereby keeps them from repenting. 
A VERY, VERY DANGGEROUS STATE INDEED!
–  Allow me to expound a little further, and give a real life 
example. Sin is not preached against enough today, sin has 
made inroads into Christ’s church in wholesale lots! Just 
yesterday (Halloween) my wife and I drove past a church, and 
there were ladies dressed up on the lot, with wicked looking 
Witches outfits, laughing, and carrying on, spider webs and all 
flying in the wind.,(all steeped in occult practices) and 
Christians would know how evil this celebration is, and many 
would repent of their involvement if PREACHERS TOOK a 
STAND against it. I do my self every year, and yes many 
have left and never came back, but many have REPENTED, 
and QUIT celebrating this EVIL CELEBRATION.  Oh’ the 
blindness of the many pastors, and parishioners alike! Sin is 
being not only allowed, but even lauded in celebratory praise! 
REPENT SINFUL CHURCHES TURN FROM YOUR 
SINFUL WAYS OR ELSE CHRIST SHALL COME AND 
REMOVE THE CANDLESTICK FROM YOUR MIDST!
Rev 2:5         Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, 
and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto 
thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, 
except thou repent.

         – This is the Light He has called us to, out of darkness, 
which are the sinful misguided ways of mankind.   Amen

1 Pet 2:9         But ye are a chosen generation, a royal 
priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should 
shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of 
darkness into his marvellous light:

2 Cor 6:17         Wherefore come out from among them, and be 
ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; 
and I will receive you,

               
                D. the Cross is an offense. The Offense is the part 
where one is forced to make a decision, (CONVICTION) 
either the decision, to REPENT, and turn to God, or the 
decision to reject The Gospel, and live in ones sins; pride/self-
righteousness is the culprit. Again Jesus said. “Blessed are 
they whom are NOT offended in me”. We must come to Him 
as little children, and humbly submit to His Grace! Amen
                          Jesus also said, “Except ye repent, ye shall 
all likewise perish”.  This is the repentance that initially 
happens upon the believing sinner hearing the gospel!
       E. Repentance is an ongoing thing in the life of a true 
believer. The lie taught called, once saved, always saved has 
led more into hell, than probably any other lie ever projected.
                – Scriptures that show clearly the necessity, and 
command of a believer to repent of sin.                   Luke 17:3 
and Luke 17:4, Acts 8:13-23, Rev. Chpts. 2 and 3
                – We are also given the example of confessing our 
sin daily unto the Lord, as given in the Lord’s Prayer,”forgive 
us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us”
…
                – Also be careful to not fall into the lie of “sinless 
perfection” 1 John 1. The bible says this mindset is calling 
God a Liar! And that if we say this, the Truth is NOT in us!
                F. the Bible says in the latter times, (last days) 
some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing 
spirits, and doctrines of devils”. And so apostasy would be 
rampant or common place.
                          – It only makes sense that Satan would fight 
this oh so important teaching, causing blindness to this will 
only further exacerbate the problems for fallen man, and the 
luke-warm church. And so we see why “the love (agape) of 
many shall wax cold”. If sin goes un-repented of it will beget 
more sin, and also cause a division between the sinner, and 
God. James 5:19-20, so many would do well to heed the 
conditions for Gods forgiveness,  2 Chron. 7:14  IF my 
people, …… and TURN FROM …..
       G. Even unto the very last day of the dispensation of 
God’s amazing Grace, God still will receive, a repentant 
sinner, all the way through the Great Tribulation (the book of 
Revelation) we see God’s Messengers still preaching 
REPENT!
– Oh how great the torment of the one who refuses to repent, 
and be converted, and serve The Living God, it shall be when 
they go into the horrible place called hell. The memories so 
real, of hearing and refusing God’s Grace!
       H. And so just as we have seen God’s word teaching us 
to repent, I call to each of you whom feel The Holy Spirit of 
God tugging on your heart to get it under the blood, That is a 
call to “ REPENT or PERISH”!
                – Sinner repent and receive the Gospel!
                – Backslider repent, and be converted!
                – Religious man/woman repent of your way (that 
leads to the ways of death) and come to His Light, and He will 
show you the Truth!
                –  Lukewarm child of God quit quenching the Holy 
Ghost and Repent, before it is too late! Rev. 3
       Would everyone please bow your heads in reverence to 
the Holy Ghost? Saints of God Pray!
                 Would you receive him friend? Jesus loves you! 
And wants to cleanse away the sin that holds you captive, 
that heaps guilt upon you, and drowns you in shame! That 
holds you in those addictions, and makes life feel as though it 
is not worth it, which is a lie. Jesus said, “the thief cometh not 
but for to kill, and to steal, and to destroy, but I have come 
that you might have life, and that you might have it more 
abundantly”. He is your only answer! It is available right now, 
(even as God calls, and convicts you) a clean slate, a new 
chance, a brand new life! And someday a mansion prepared 
for you in God’s Holy City!
Come and receive Him TODAY! YES… Repent OR Perish!
